Some error types need precise measurements in order for you to make judgments about the what the error could be. Personally, I am often looking for what a coin is supposed to weigh to compare it to the specimen that I have in hand and sometimes that will take time to research. So, as a purely selfish activity, I've created a list of the weights, diameters and compositions of all coins minted for circulation from George III to Charles II.
